We've been in this house for two years now and always thought this was a crab apple tree - producing really small extremely tart apples... not so this year! We have small, but nice sized apples that are actually edible!
They are the almost the shape of golden delicious, but taste almost like granny smith apples. Anyone know what kind of apples these are??
Oh, I'll be needing some apple recipes, too... what ya got?! :)

ReplyDeleteThose look so yummy. My favorite apple treat is snicker salad. Just cut some apples (about 6) into bite-size pieces, add a bag of mini snicker's and a tub of whipped cream, mix it all together, refridgerate for a little while, and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteMmm, those apples look good! What about a good old apple pie? That is my favorite thing to make with apples. Or you can make homemade applesauce.
ReplyDeleteThe easiest way (I think!) is to peel your apples and then cut them into chunks. Then toss the apple chunks into your crockpot and cook them on low (no need to add water or anything else) until they're mushy. Then you just mush them and mash them until they're a consistency you like. You can add cinnamon and/or sugar if you like--but we just eat it plain.
