Summer Bucket List

This list probably won't get completed in one summer, but it's good to have the list to pull from.  :)


Short/Easy Activities
  1. Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag 
  2. Homemade Popsicle - specifically fudge pops
  3. Farmer's Market
  4. Write letters and send pictures to Great-Grandparents in Wisconsin and Grandparents in Washington
  5. 3D Sidewalk Chalk
  6. Obstacle Course
  7. Catch and Release fireflies (AKA lightnin' bugs)
  8. Visit the Library (Nathan and Witt still need cards)
  9. Wii family night
  10. Water balloon fight
  11. Put up glow-in-the-dark stars in the boys' room
  12. Go see "Smurfs" at the movies
  13. Look for shapes in the clouds
  14. Make lemonade (and maybe a stand!)
  15. Play board games
  16. Go see "Cars 2" at the movies
  17. Have a baking day and stock up on breakfast cookies, muffins, and sausages
  18. Teach the boys how to jump rope
  19. Root beer floats 
  20. Shadow Watching
  21. Have a family candle-light dinner


Long/Big Activities

  1. Have a few "no screen" days (no tv, no computer, no hand held video games)
  2. Space & Rocket Center
  3. Botanical Gardens
  4. Cub Scout Day Camp
  5. Attend a week long Christian Camp (the boys and I are going - 1st time at camp for each of us!)
  6. Road trip to Georgia (my brother is getting married!)
  7. U-Pickit Farms
  8. Spend the Night Party with the many, many boys on our street (Will's Bday Party!)
  9. Teach Will how to ride his bike without training wheels (maybe Nathan & Witt, too!)
  10. Help harvest Great-Grandaddy's garden (and do some canning!)
  11. Visit the farm we get our milk and eggs from
  12. Rollerskating
  13. Hot dogs and S'mores over an open fire (at Will's Bday party)
  14. Bowling
  15. Set up the tent in the back yard and "camp"
  16. Splash-Pad days at the local park
  17. Get my blog caught up... 

 Books we own that have a movie to watch after we read it
  1. Peter Pan
  2. Sounder
  3. Black Beauty
  4. Oliver Twist
  5. The Tale of Desperaux
  6. Stuart Little
  7. Swiss Family Robinson
  8. Winnie the Pooh (coming to theaters this summer)

School Related:

  1. Make Mini-Offices
  2. Learn how to use an MP3 player - don't laugh!
  3. Buy and automatic pencil sharpener

What a great idea! I may have to do this. I always say I'm gonna do something fun this summer with the kids then I get busy and nothing! Thanks for the idea!

Hi Becky! I'm glad you are still around. ;) Hey, summers are busy. Blogs are not top priority. I understand! I am going to need your encouragement for homeschooling so can't wait to hear your plans for the year, yay! :) And how did you do on your summer list?

Summer has been busy and it's been fun to cross things off my bucket list!

My computer has "issues" and I'm having a hard time posting pictures. I do need to get caught up on here, though... we've been doing some fun stuff with school!
