Feeding Men

What is it about feeding men that makes us feel so good? (Or maybe it's just me...)

Last night, Jeff was working late. I had just made a pot of chicken stew and he was hungry. He was expecting to be very late and I offered to bring supper up to him. He asked if I would bring two extra bowls worth for the other guys that were working along side him. I offered to just bring the whole pot and he said that sounded great.

I was happy to bring the stew, but somehow felt guilty that I didn't have a homemade dessert to go with it. When did the soul of Betty Crocker overtake me?! LOL! Jeff made it home with half of the stew in tow. He said they really enjoyed it and were thankful to have it, and yet I still felt bad for not having a dessert...?

So, are you a Betty Crocker wanna-be, too, or is it just me?

"Dis" or "Ding"

Will
has been using a few new "big" words this week. The most common is "cooperating"...

"Is anybody cooperating with me?!!"

**************************************************
Another was "disregard".

He said something that really didn't make much sense and then followed it with:

"Disregard that thought." And off he went...

A new song from school (sung to "Frere Jacques")

R-E-D Red
R-E-D Red
That spells red
That spells red
Firetrucks are red
Stop signs are, too
R-E-D
R-E-D

Witt... this is the first time I've included Witt on TTT. He's not talking, but doing something very interesting that I just don't quite get. He's still nursing and this past week he'll take a break from nursing to suck his thumb. What's up with that?! :) I think it's close to weaning time.

Witt has also recently pulled to standing... in a laundry basket. I start early on teaching laundering skills! :)

Oh, an plenty of slobbering going on, too!

Nathan: It's either "dis" or "ding" around here. "Dis" if he wants "this".

And a "ding" is for every time he accomplishes something.

shut the door... "ding"
turn on the light... "ding"
pull off a sock... "ding"
hop off the chair..."ding"
click his seatbelt... "ding"
tear a piece of paper..."ding"
crash a tractor into the wall..."ding"

We've got a lot of "dinging" going on here at my house because he's into EVERYTHING! Typical two year old!

Not so much a "Sculpture"

This week's unplugged project is "sculpture". You'd think that with all the quiet times at our house we would have done this, but, well... it just didn't happen. Instead, we did Will's homework of decorating 3 paper plates as a snowman. Here is Will's accomplishment:
