Hot Yell Cakes

UPDATE: I'm gonna cheat just a bit and say that this post works for Tiny Talk Tuesday as well! Don't hate me; I'm just a busy mommy with a [non- talkative] kindergartener now and I need to get ready for school and get off this computer! LOL! Have a fantastic day!

Nathan has been asking for "Yell Cake" (yellow cake) for about a week now; he's referring to my homemade yellow squash muffins (click link for recipe).

This week's unplugged project is Hot so I decided that we'd make some hot yell cakes together. :)

We had to boil the squash first... see the steam? It was hot!

We prepared the remaining ingredients while we waited on the squash.

Preheat to 350... again, whew... HOT! :)

Put the batter in the muffin tins.

One of the best things about baking egg-free is that it's ok to eat the raw batter! LOL!

And here are our hot yell cakes... yummy!

Call me a rebel, but I ate cake batter with raw eggs in it as a kid, and I still do :-)

Looks yummy! But, I think I'm a little too lazy to make these. Could you make some and send them to me? That would be wonderful!

Those look yummy. I am always on the lookout for something new and easy (especially if it involves a new way of disguising a veggie). Thanks for the idea!

I hope I haven't missed your ALS walk sponsorship. I briefly saw it in my email but have been too busy to deal with email this summer. I have a free day tomorrow and again on Thursday, so I will check it out.

I haven't organized a walk here as I had thought of doing (maybe next year when the baby will be in preschool?), but I would love to contribute to yours.

Do you think a HOT DOG Bell would be a hit?

I knew when I heard it that it was for Tiny Talk Tuesday.

How is it with less kiddos at home? Currently it is still a "DREAM" but in SIX days 4 of the kids will be in school! Oh that will be the day!
