What? No comments yet?? hey, does that count as my question? Just kidding!
How do you manage to turn the tv off all the time? - Honestly, we have such a struggle with this one. There are times when we do so well and other times (like lately) where I have so much going on that I really do use it as a babysitter. Sad, I know. With that said, though, the boys know that when I say turn it off, I mean it and they do it. When we're in our routine well, we don't turn the tv on until after naps (around 3:00 PM).

Is your whole family dairy free or just Witt?
- Our whole family is dairy free when Witt is around. Our house is a "safe zone" for him. I would say that 97% of the time there is no dairy in the house. That 3% is the chocolate stash that Jeff and I have hidden in our bedroom every once in a while and the cream cheese for Jeff's bagels that are locked inside a Tupperware container on the back of the top shelf in the fridge. :)
I cream my coffee with soy or coconut milk creamers. If I have bagels, I use Tofutti cream cheese (Jeff will take his bagel to go, as I stay in the house with my food). Those of us that will eat yogurt enjoy coconut milk yogurt. The only "cheese" in the house is soy cheese.
So for the most part, we are all dairy free, yes. :)

Ooo I could use just one coupon. We are trying tree nuts soon. How does it taste? He drinks soy milk now.
- I answered a similar question the last time I gave coupons away. Here is my copy-n-paste answer:

Which would be better, Almond Milk or Nutrella for a food trial?
If you don't have a problem with milk and are just testing almonds (which are tree nuts and not related to a peanut allergy as I see your child does have based on your blog title {grin}) then personally I would choose the product that has almonds listed further down in the ingredient list so he's not getting a huge dose of them.
Start with a small skin test by rubbing it on his skin. Then if you don't have a reaction, give him some to eat/drink.
Those are my PERSONAL OPINIONS. I am NOT A DOCTOR. The best suggestion I can give would be to do a supervised test at the doctor's office.

I am supposed to ask a question. I haven't seen the gallons of almond milk. Where can you buy these?
-
i love almond milk! have you tried making your own? i have and its delish!
ps there's an award for you at my blog! check out my latest post. =) - No, I haven't tried making my own, but I would LOVE to!!! My concern is the calcium. The store bought almond milk already has calcium in it. This is almost the only way I can get calcium into my pickiest son. He doesn't eat any dairy (or dairy substitutes) and no green veggies. Calcium is a big concern for me with him and I haven't had time to do the research on a good calcium supplement yet. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much for the award, too! How very sweet!! Hopefully I'll be able to pass it along soon!
Thanks everyone for the questions!! If you have more, just let me know!

Oliver's Labels Discount Code!
A couple of weeks (ok... months) ago, I was contacted by Oliver's Labels to review their allergy labels (scroll down when you get there) and to also offer my readers a discount to their store.
Although they only show individual allergy designs, they offered to add more as necessary. I requested NO DAIRY, NO EGG, NO PEANUT with Witt's first and last name on it. And that is exactly what they gave me. Quickly. They have a 24 to 48 hour ship time!
The labels are waterproof! I've had one on Witt's plastic sippy cup for about two months now and it's still there... no fading or tearing off.
They also sent me a large bag tag with the same allergy design. I haven't attached this to a bag, but it came in very handy as a "necklace". Let me explain... We were attending a fellowship meal at my in-laws' church congregation and very few people there know about Witt's food allergies, so I strung a long string through the large tag and tied it around his neck. He happily wore it all day long.
The tag was a good conversation starter, but I realized that although people were noticing the tag and his name, they were not noticing the cute little designs indicating his food allergies. For this purpose, I would prefer to have just had "FOOD ALLERGIES!" written in place of his name (or above it). The designs are just too cute and were getting glanced over as decoration only.
I am really happy with their products and they have held up well for the couple of months we have used them. If you would like to purchase some labels of your own, Oliver's Labels is offering you 10% off! When checking out, just enter the coupon code "OLIVERSFRIENDS".

Pay It Forward Giveaway!!
A few weeks ago, a Pay It Forward giveaway popped up in my Reader from UnplugYourKids. Basically, she won a giveaway from another blogger and then paid it forward by offering a giveaway on her blog. Not only did I get to have fun going to the mailbox waiting on my surprise, but my surprise was coming from FRANCE! MomUnplugged was getting ready to go on a trip with her family and promised a little token from France! How exciting!
At the time we still hadn't moved and didn't know we would be moving so quickly, so I gave her my old address. Talk about anticipation! :) I finally received my package from France that also made it's way across north Alabama. I enjoyed just looking at all the stamps on the package! (I live a sheltered life! LOL!)
I wish I had been of sound mind to take a picture, but in the midst of the move I just wasn't. She sent me a lovely postcard and bookmark. The special surprise was a stone that you spritz with cologne/perfume/other scented item and place in your drawer. It is engraved with the word Amitie' which means Friendship. That engraving is very special to me, coming from her, because she was one of the first bloggers I really got in contact with. I've always enjoyed her blog and she's always been such an encouragement to me to spend more quality time with my kiddos! Thank you, MomUnplugged!
So, now it's my turn!! Or rather, your turn!
The first three bloggers that comment on this post will receive a surprise from me in the mail. You must be a blogger that is willing to Pay It Forward on your blog. It doesn't have to be anything big or expensive, just a little something to spread some happiness.
I haven't decided what I will be sending as my surprise...I guess it will just have to be a surprise!

Ecostore USA Giveaway!
WINNER: SCOTTISH TWINS!!!
Well, I figured I'd come back to the blogging world with a bang! :) How about a giveaway??
Ecostore USA would like to give one of my readers a $25 gift certificate to their online store! How great is that?! They offer body, hair, household, and pet products that "are not only good for the user, but good for the planet". Here's a brief description from their website:
Our eco friendly, plant-based household cleaning products are as effective as the leading supermarket brands, and our body and baby care ranges are gentle on your skin and are simply beautiful to use.
All of our products are made from plant- and mineral-based ingredients, free of toxic chemicals that bring people closer to nature with non-toxic, environmentally safe solutions that also help to reduce our carbon footprint.
I have had the pleasure of sampling a couple of their products. I chose the coconut soap and the laundry powder. I was excited to try the coconut soap on my youngest boys as I have heard that coconut soap can be extremely beneficial to dry skin and possibly eczema. However, once I received the soap, I saw that cow's milk was an ingredient. Although the website says the amount of cow's milk is a very small amount, I just wasn't willing to risk it with Witt's life threatening allergy to milk. For those of you with milk allergies in the family... I just wanted to make an extra effort to point out the ingredients. (Another side note for allergy folks: Goat's milk is an ingredient in the Baby Soap.)
So... Jeff and I tested the coconut soap. Neither of us have very sensitive skin, so I don't have anything extraordinary to report. It was soap, it smelled like coconut, and it cleaned our skin with No Nasty Chemicals (TM). Good stuff. :)
I've also been using the laundry powder for about three weeks now. Works great! No irritation on any of the boys and as I type this I'm thinking that Nathan and Witt might actually have had less skin irritation since I've been using it. Nice!
So, now I know you want to try some of this stuff for yourself, right?! Here are the rules to the giveaway:
1) I'm not really sure if they want to mail outside of the US at the moment, so to be on the safe side, I'm going to say that you must have a US mailing address.
2) Possible 4 entries per person. Make individual comments for each entry.
- 1 entry for visiting their website and leaving me a comment regarding an item(s) you would like to try
- 1 entry if you Tweet about this giveaway (leave the link in the comment)
- 1 entry if you tell your friends on Facebook about the giveaway ( on you honor)
- 1 entry if you blog about this giveaway (leave the link in the comment)
3) You do not have to be a blogger to win, but you must have a valid email address as the gift certificate will be sent to your email.
5) Once the winner is announced and I will email you. You will have two business days to claim your gift certificate before I choose another winner. I will not hunt you down... sorry.
6) You have until NOON CST, Monday, August 17, 2009 to enter.
I also must tell you that Ecostore USA is running a fabulous BOGO sale for the month of August. You must purchase $50 worth of products to get the free items, but S&H will be free and you'll get two of everything! So even if you don't win this gift certificate, there is still a great sale going on!
Good luck!

Happy Birthday to Me
Ok, so Jeff obviously infiltrated my blog this morning! What a sweet gift to give me (and our boys) to write down his side of the story on how we met.
From being persuaded to check out Auburn which lead to a blind date... which lead to meeting the date's brother... which lead to a job... then a "talking to" from his mama about girls and a specific thoughtful prayer on his part about the woman he would marry. God had been working to bring us together for a long time... which I can relate to in my reflections as well.
God is so good to us! I am so blessed!
*************
For my birthday, I have the $5 Amazon e-gift card to give away! The lucky winner is bekahcubed! Here's what she's checking out on Amazon these days:
Congratulations, Bekah!!!
Thanks to everyone that de-lurked this month and played in my birthday carnival! That was so much fun going back into everyone's archives!!! If I were to choose a post from April 2008, I'd direct you to this one.
I'm off to have a great birthday! You know... dishes, laundry, sweeping, wiping... keeping the home I am so gratefully blessed with! I love my life!

Book Giveaway!!
I have always (mostly) been an avid reader. I added the mostly part because when my kids were very young I rarely read a book. Thankfully, I'm able to sneak some reading in these days!Right now I probably have about 5 books started... two of which I read regularly. I have a shelf full of to-be-read books!
Once I joined Paperbackswap, my book shelf went from baby-help books to gardening, parenting and teaching, natural cleaners, help-meet books, nutritional books, etc. I have a wide variety of subjects to read now! I'm currently not much interested in fiction, although I have enjoyed my share of good fictional books in the past. I guess I just have the "learning bug" right now; there is such a world full of knowledge out there!
For this week's birthday giveaway,
I am offering 2 people a single book credit from Paperbackswap!
If you are already a member of PBS, I will just credit your account and you can pick your book at your leisure. If you are not a member, you have two options: 1) Become a member (which is free) so that I can credit your account or 2) Pick a book from the 3, 309,319 books that are currently available on their site within 10 days of the winners being announced.
Be sure that if you become a member that you use one of the highlighted links in this post. I'll receive a book credit for each new member that chooses to post 10 books to swap!
HOW TO WIN?
In the comments section of this post, please tell me the title of your favorite book and a little about why it's your favorite. You may list up to three different books - but be sure to list them as separate comments for a total of three entries.
You do not have to be a blogger to win; however, I believe PBS is limited to the US, so this giveaway will also be limited by that. You must also leave some way for me to contact you in your comments. I will not hunt you down to tell you that you won... sorry.
You have until NOON on Sunday, April 19, 2009 to enter. The winners will be announced next Monday along with another giveaway! You will have 2 days to respond before you forfeit your book.
(Sorry for all the "legal stuff")
Happy Birthday to me! (Please remember to de-lurk yourself here!)

Random Fun Stuff
I won a free design from Delicious Designs by Trista! What do you think?
In my opinion, she NAILED what I asked for!! I told her I wanted to go with a general theme of "ruling" and I wanted to simplify the look of my blog. I suggested the picture of the little prince and asked for a crooked crown in the signature. I let her do the rest! I love the color scheme and the simplicity! She even came up with the tag line (...house is too clean), which I LOVE!!!
Trista was very professional, timely, and is obviously quite talented! I recommend her if you are looking for a new design for your blog. Tell her I sent ya! :)
Now, for the random fun stuff...
April is my birthday month! Jeff turned 37 this year; I'm 3 years younger, so that makes me 28.
In celebration of my birthday month, I want to get to know YOU better!! I got this idea from MissElaine and I thought is was a fabulous way to get to know my readers. I was shocked to see this blog has 31 public readers! WOW! I started this blog just as a way to keep my family and friends up-to-date with our family. I had no idea the friends I would make out in the blog-o-sphere!
So, here's what I want from you for my birthday:
If you have been blogging for at least one year, go back to April 2008, pick a post you want me to read and put it in Mr. Linky below. This will give me an opportunity to visit each of you and learn something that you want me to know about you.
If you haven't been blogging for a year, go back to the first month you started blogging and pick a post to insert.
If you aren't a blogger, please leave me a comment about yourself!
I plan to do small giveaways the last three weeks in April to celebrate, but you'll need to participate in order to be entered!
This week there is no giveaway because you're giving me a gift by introducing yourself!
Looking forward to knowing you better!

A few book lovers out there--
I love books too, but today I'm feeling in the mood for some oldies. So I'm thinkin' I'd probably go with some fantastic early Christian rock:
Larry Norman's "I've Searched all around" and "Righteous Rocker", Lamb's "The Sacrificed Lamb" and "Baruch Ha'Shem" and "Rattle Me, Shake Me" (which I'm familiar with as a HoneyTree song--but which David Meece sings in this recording.)
