My Valentine

Jeff...My Valentine. What can I say? I love him to pieces. He makes my world a wonderful place and I don't know where I would be today without him. I feel loved, safe, and protected with him. I am so fortunate and thankful to have this man as my husband.

Here's the short list about my valentine:

1. He is a Christan and he knows his Bible. He is the one who broke down my wall regarding religion and the "fear" I had of thinking I wouldn't be able to understand it all.

2. He is a very hard worker and takes pride in what he does. He's one of the most intelligent people I know. He's good with his hands and he wants it done right.

3. He is loyal. ('nuf said)

4. He listens. He listens to me babble, chat, cry, and yell. He listens whether it is truly interesting to him or not. He listens.

5. He is a great dad. Rough and tumble yet hugs and kisses every morning and night for each boy. (And he's got the whole "consistency in discipline" down better than I do.)

6. He's a southern farm boy. "Yes ma'ams" and all. He makes awesome sweet tea and some mean homemade biscuits from scratch! Oh, I've got to tell you about his chocolate gravy sometime, too! Yum!

7. He has a dry sense of humor. He really enjoys puns. Lots of puns. Lots and lots. It's one of the quirky things I love about him, but it drives me nuts at the same time! He's also just plain silly sometimes (nice pose):

8. He knows which way is north, how to tie a proper knot, how to put up dry wall, lay ceramic tile, rewire a house, fix the plumbing, shingle a roof, program a computer, do calculus, ride a horse, drive a tractor, wrestle a calf down, load a dishwasher, change out an empty roll of toilet paper and clean up a dirty diaper. Now that's a man! (Oh, and I've heard it said that "he wears his Wranglers well". Let me just tell you that it doesn't have to be Wranglers... Levi, Carhartt, Fruit of the Loom, Hanes... it doesn't matter... he wears them all well! *wink wink*)

9. He chose his degree of study with the knowledge that he wanted his future wife to have the option to stay at home with the kids. He also understands that I need an outlet from those kids sometimes! He tries to accommodate me whenever possible even if he has had a rough day and needs an "out", too.

10. He can drop a tree exactly where he wants to. Even after 5 men told him it was going to fall elsewhere, that tree... it fell where HE told it to:

So, if it's not obvious by now, this southern farm boy of mine... he really impresses me. He floats my boat. He rocks my world. He's all that and a bag of chips. He puts the --oo-- in "groovy" for me. I like him a lot. I think I'll keep him.

I'm proud that he's mine and I love that we have a relationship of flirtation, silliness, love, and seriousness. I wouldn't want it any other way.

So, now I want to know, ladies... What kind of man turns your head? I've got a new poll up on the sidebar...

*********************************************
UPDATE: Top picks on the men that turn heads -

31% Southern Farm Boys
21% Carpenters
15% Suit and Tie Men
15% Cowboys
15% Teachers

Just a side note... in case you are a surfer dude... you got 0 (zero) votes. Apparently women don't like surfers... interesting.

Let me just say, because I know you in real life too, that Jeff is just as crazy about you. That's something you can hang your hat on!

(BTW, skip the card and print this post for him!)

This is sweet! Wish I would have posted something about my hubby instead of him hijacking my blog and writing about me. I think he's probably just as good as your husband ... hehe! I definitely am blessed.
