Oh Becky, I feel for you!
But sometimes even when they try to cooperate, it still doesn't work out--like my brother John, who generally tried to smile for the family pictures, but always ended up with a close lipped silly smile instead of the beautiful grin he naturally has. Now that he's eighteen, he's gotten a little more comfortable around the camera.
So, think of it this way: only 15 or so years until you can get a good picture with your son!
(Wow! I definitely am a "glass is half full" sort of person, am I not?)
I'm familiar with this process.
Isn't that just like a boy? I haven't even TRIED my boys yet this year. Too bad we didn't get at least one girl - don't they usually POSE???

how funny! My 2nd born (I too have 3 boys!) does exactly the same thing when it comes to photos.
My other 2 boys gladly pose and love getting their photos taken. xo
