What would you do?

Will, age 5, has been learning about emergencies and calling 911 at preschool. This has brought about and ENDLESS supply of questions:

Mom, what would you do if you were home alone, watching a movie, and eating popcorn, and you look out the window and see Mr. Rick's garage on fire? What would you do?

Mom, what would you do if you were at home with your zero-year-old and there was a bottle marked, "DO NOT DRINK", and the zero-year old drank it? What would you do?

Mom, what would you do if Nathan bumped his head? What would you do?

Mom, what would you do if you were at home and your dad fell off a ladder and wouldn't open his eyes? What would you do?

And so on and so on and so on... What would you do? :)

*********************************
Nathan, age 2, is still progressing quite nicely in trying out new words. Still, though, without the use of sign language, I'd have no idea what he's trying to say. I've even thought to myself, "Don't you have a sign for what you are trying to say? Can't you sign to me? I don't understand!" He's keeping a really good attitude about my ignorance, though. ;)

He has really been interested in signing the alphabet lately and can copy most of the signs and recognizes even more. He can recognize the following signed letters: A - G, I - M,O, and R. His favorite being the letter "K". He giggles every time he signs it and loves to say, "K" for "okay". A couple of weeks ago, it was the letter "R" that brought about giggles. Signing is so much fun!

*********************************
Witt, 10.5 months, is still just babbling away. "Mama, Dada, Goo, Baba, etc." As far as developmentally, two days ago I caught him crawling along pushing a car. That was so exciting to see him "playing". I have noticed, though, that he seems to have "forgotten" how to roll over from back to belly. If I lay him on his back, he stays there and just whines until someone rolls him over! (At least that's one way of keeping him occupied! Ha!)

I love that about Will!! So cute...and hard to answer, I am sure. As for the simple and slow Fridays, I am sorry that I have been lame and haven't been contributing or linking up. My blogging took a backseat for awhile, but I am getting back in it. I will try for this Friday!

Aww...I love the "zero-year-old" HAHA! That's so awesome that you have taught signing. I can remember the true joy I felt when Super B would sign a new word. Good for you!

Btw...I bought Mitten Strings for God and it came in the mail today! Yippee! I can't wait to read it.

Hi, Just found you through Crunchy Chicken's April Challenge. In reading your profile, I laughed! You are me 20-some years ago! Three boys (and then we added a girl), gardening, avoiding TV, Christian...it's all there. Nice to blog-meet you!

Oh, we have had that issue with emergencies. I remember scaring them with my questions and had to be careful!

His were cracking me up!

Funny! We haven't dealt with those questions yet from TheOldest, but I suspect TheMiddleChild will be there shortly.

"zero year old"...only the son of engineers would be so precise!

I know my preschoolers love signing. We do colors and some basic vocabulary in sign. It really helps when I'm trying to introduce new Spanish words.
